China is an unusual country in every sense. And, of course, this is reflected in clothing. The Chinese have very specific ideas about beauty in general and clothing in particular.
If you look at old people, you feel how the cultural revolution has passed over them: they are often dressed very similarly. Grandmothers wear either knitted jackets or sports jackets, men often wear service jackets. Everything is very modest. And the wardrobe of pensioners is not distinguished by variety and richness.
Sometimes you can meet grandmothers in national clothes, they wear it seriously, it is not a show-off. Usually this is a variant of elegant clothing.
Only a few times I met beautifully and femininely dressed old women. Usually after 50 years old they become indistinguishable from grandfathers: hairstyles, figures, clothes – everything is the same.
